A simple photograph that I have always loved. Let it speak for itself. She is probably making a sari. I took it in Puskar, India in 2007. E-6 slide film. Nikon 24mm 2.8. F3. ©Victor Spinelli Archive
The most rustic game of Horse Polo I ever saw. I took this in Gilgit, Pakistan in the year 2000. The game was invented in India about 3000 years ago and the first organized match was played in Persia. It was amazing because the horses and riders would crash into the surrounding walls (see background) which were actually the borders of the field. The polo mallets were made of irregular shafts of wood and the ground was very bumpy. Shot with 400ASA Kodak. 105mm 2.5 lens. ©Victor Spinelli
I photographed this young man in Havana in 2007. My friends thought he had colored contact lenses but I assured them he didn’t. Besides where would he get them, with the embargo in place. It’s possibly a case of recessive genetics. Anyone care to leave input? Please reply. Photographed with a Nikon 50mm 1.2 on Fuji 100asa slide E-6. ©Victor Spinelli

Photo of the Day-Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage-Sri Lanka
Posted: 20th July 2010 by admin in Photo of the DayA beautiful peaceful photograph that I took in 1996 while hitch hiking throughout Sri Lanka. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage has been caring for these majestic animals for decades. Throughout Sri Lankas civil war many calf’s have lost their parents through human killing, intentional and or simple victims of this tragic war. Heavy poaching is still rampant and only about 3000 wild elephants roam free in National Parks. Shot with e-6 Slide film. ©Victor Spinelli
